What are varicose veins?

Veins are blood vessels that carry blood from different parts of the body to the heart. In their veins contain reduced quantity only in muscles, therefore blood flow in another direction than the one towards the heart is stopped for unidirectional valves. Varicose veins occur due to valvular disfunctionalitatilor functional which let the blood flow in both directions, thus they can dilate, blood born accumulations that can sometimes be significant. Varicose veins occur at the level of the hips, in the back of the knees and shins and creates sensation of heaviness or pain in the Member. Visually create an unpleasant appearance due to the different pigmentatiei of the skin.  Untreated, varicose veins can worsen causing bleeding or ulcers can cause skin diseases (varicose ulcer), serious disorders can reach major complications.

Methods of treatment

It is recommended that treatment of varicose veins to be started as early as in their appearance. The early approach to treat varicose veins we can avoid lots of problems.

There are many surgical and non-surgical treatment of varicose veins, depending on the patient's symptoms, compexitatea and new methods of treatment being the less painful in some instances these interventions may be carried out even without hospitalization. In our clinic we prefer little invasive methods, methods which are standard for the treatment of varicose veins in most countries in Europe (laser, cryotherapy, foam, steam, RF).

Foam sclerotherapy

Method of treatment involves the injection of a solution with a fine needle directly into the vein, top quality-controlled inflammation is what will ultimately determine the vein closure, this deveniind of mostly invisible or nearly invisible. Pain during sclerotarapiei is small or very small intensity depending on the used solution, the concentration of the solution that should be suitable for the diameter of spider veins and the region where it performs the procedure.

Recovery after sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy can be performed in an outpatient setting (without hospitalization).  After injecting the substance needed to apply a cholangitis is compressive bandage for several days in order to promote contact venosi walls. The patient may move after sclerotherapy, without need hospitalization. FASA elastic is removed after 24 hours, scleroterapiei effect can be noticed immediately. Unpleasant possible effects can and redness at the site level sclerotherapy which usually is eliminated in 72 hours. Sclerotherapy is preferred by patients due to the possibility of performing outpatient conditions and immediate beneficial effects.

Method with steam (VenoSteam)

Treatment of varicose veins with steam is a inovatorare method in vascular surgery. This intervention consists of injecting pressurised vapour heat with the help of some fine, special catheters.  The vein is treated with microimplulsuri controlled that cause the vein to collapse and to close. Vapors are generated by a special device called a steam generator.

This method of treatment of varicose veins is used since 2006, awarded by the European governing body's Vascular Surgery in 2010, getting the first place as the best and most original treatment method.

The recovery process

The advantage of the method is the size of inciziilor, which in fact are some points through which you enter the steam heat in vein. The surgery is performed under local anaesthesia, the patient being at the clinic a few hours, after which you can return to work. The possibility of relapse is very low and improve the aesthetic appearance is spectacular.

Venous infusions

Cryotherapy is the procedure by which unwanted tissues are removed from the body through the freezing and defrosting controlled. As a result of this method is the varicose vein ice cream and eliminated completely or partially. In most cases it uses liquid nitrogen to this procedure, which reduces the temperature of the tissue at-80 degrees Celsius.

The method can be used as an alternative to varicose vein removal through surgery, the advantage being the lack of additional inciziilor for removing the veins.

Recovery after cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is a minimally-invasive method, the pain and discomfort is minimized, the absence of major inciziilor creates an aesthetic effect for less than extirparii. After surgery may occur the redness or swelling in the treated area, it is recommended that drug therapy to shrink the State of discomfort.

Laser therapy

Laser therapy of varicose veins is the method by which a beam of coherent light oscillating (laser) is used to remove the vein. The laser heats the area affected by passing light and temperature through the end of a flexible fiber, varicose veins are closed and sclerozate. The body will gradually resorbi. Simple laser therapy can only treat superficial vaicoase veins while endovenous laser treatment can remove larger veins and varicose veins that feed the superficial. The advantage of laser therapy is reduced recovery time (similar to VenoSteam recovery and Cryo), minimum pain and the fact that it does not require major incisions. This intervention is realizaza through local anesthesia.

Recovery after laser therapy

Laser therapy is performed on an out-patient, patient's hospitalization necessary, normal activity can be resumed after treatment. After endovenous laser treatment is necessary wearing of compressive bandage for a period of one week to facilitate vein closure.

Alpha Method

Alpha method is a way of treatment combined, similar to scleroterapiei with foam, but a greater precision and safety. The method consists of injecting varicose vein foam cholangitis in through a special catheter under ultrasound guidance. The foam inserted creates a reaction of inflammation in the walls of veins which determine its closure. This intervention is realizaza through local anesthesia.

Recovery after treatment

This procedure can be conducted without hospitalization, but the wearing of compressive bandage for a period between one week and one month.
