What it is and why do you need an Arteriography

Arteriography is a minimally invasive method that allows direct visualization of the arterial lumen using X-rays, through which the interventional physician identifies the existence of stenosis and/or arterial occlusions, as well as their extension and severity, the existence of acute hemorrhages or vascular abnormalities, can quantify the degree of vascularization of various normal or pathological structures. The data obtained from this type of procedure facilitates the choice of the optimal indication for treatment – which may be medicinal, interventional or surgical.

Who can recommend an Arteriography

In most countries with advanced medical services, the Angiologist, following a consultation, can make the recommendation for an Arteriography investigation. At VenArt Clinic we follow the same protocol, and our Angiologists can guide you and answer any questions you may have.

What training does Arteriography require?

These procedures require local anesthesia at the site of the vascular approach (femoral, brachial, radial).

Who performs Arteriography?

It is performed by interventional radiologists or vascular surgeons in more and more countries, using angiographic X-ray guidance and injection of iodinated contrast material.
