Dr. Dan Dirzu graduated the Military Medical Institute from Targu Mures in 2005, and completed the European Diploma in Anesthesiology in 2010. He is a specialized physician in anesthesiology and intensive care, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Iuliu Hatieganu”, in Cluj-Napoca. He teaches post graduate courses and he is involved in educational activities with students and resident physicians.
Dr. Dirzu is an expert in simulation-based medical education, and the coordinator of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, within The Simulation and Practical Skills Center. He is an expert in difficult airway management, and subsequently an organizer and trainer for related courses. He has experience in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia.
Dr. Dirzu is a member in the executive committee (secretary) of the European Society for Computing and Technology in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care (ESCTAIC). He has participated in national and international research studies. He offers training in medical malpractice. He is a trainer within the Basic Assessment and Support in Intensive Care program, at the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM).
