About Dr. Mihăileanu Florin Vasile
Dr. Mihăileanu Florin Vasile graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine at the “Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca, in 2001 and began his professional training in general surgery as a resident at the Regional Institute of Gastroenterology and Hepatology “Prof. Dr. Octavian Fodor” Cluj-Napoca, under the surgical team coordinated by Prof. Dr. Cornel Iancu. He became a specialist physician in general surgery in 2010.
In 2013, he earned his Doctorate in Medical Sciences with the thesis titled “Iatrogenic Biliary Tract Injuries After Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy: Surgical Treatment Methods,” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Liviu Vlad.
Since 2011, he has been a University Assistant at UMF Cluj-Napoca in the Department of Surgery 2 – Emergency County Hospital Cluj-Napoca, and in 2016, he became a primary physician in general surgery.
He has extensive postgraduate training, having completed numerous specialization courses in laparoscopic general surgery.
He has been a researcher in two national grants conducted at Clinic Surgery 3, Cluj-Napoca. An important field of his interest is obesity surgery, for which he completed several training courses and, together with Prof. Dr. Aurel Mironiuc’s team, performed over 150 laparoscopic gastric resections (gastric sleeve) and surgeries involving the abdominal wall.
He has performed numerous surgical interventions, including digestive, hepato-biliary, oncologic, parietal pathology (laparoscopic treatment of inguinal hernias, umbilical hernias, incisional hernias), and vascular procedures.
